The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Remember
Jimi Fucking Hendrix... died 42 years ago today. RIP to the greatest guitarist of all time.OK so everyone knows Jimi is the fucking shit and I really don't feel the need to explain much further why. I chose "Remember" because, well duh, remember that he died on this day 42 years ago etc. But more importantly because it is quite possibly the greatest guitar groove ever. Hendrix always had the flare and the insane solos but some of his best tracks didn't even have solos. Just the chug-along groove, great singing, and impeccably timing of his rhythm section, Mitch Mitchell on drums and Noel Redding on bass. So brilliant.
I will now let two incredible live performances explain why Hendrix is the greatest guitarist ever. For starters it's the legendary Monterey performance where he lights his fucking guitar on fucking fire!

Next it's Hendrix at Woodstock. He played to a completely partied out crowd to close the legendary festival and put on one hell of a fucking show!
